Our story
After a year, Leonardo’s business had grown enough to move to a larger space, and it was time to hire people to help continue the adventure. By then, Ricopan Bakehouse had a unique and standardized Pandebono recipe that customers loved. The business was ready to offer a line of breakfast sandwiches, lunches, a diverse range of bakery items, pastries, and fried foods inspired by the Latin fusion brought by each new team member.
Ricopan Bakehouse is one of the most prominent Latin cafés and bakeries in Tampa Bay, opening its doors in February 2011, thanks to the partnership of Leonardo Valencia and Cheryl Perilla. Together, they embarked on an adventure that would challenge their lives, as one was dedicated to the commercial sector and the other to the transportation business.
Leonardo Valencia took the lead in this adventure, while Cheryl focused on preparing the foundation and logistics of their dream. Their goal was to create a Colombian inspired business that would make a difference and captivate the world with the best Pandebono in the area.
It all started in a small store with a computer, a small oven, a mini display case, and a coffee maker. In this tiny space, Leonardo offered remittance services, some Colombian products, coffee, and produced about ten Pandebonos daily, which were still being perfected. Customers visiting Ricopan Bakehouse could see Leonardo putting his heart into each small Pandebono and warmly welcoming each customer with a smile and friendly service. As the number of visitors increased, Leonardo and Cheryl were inspired to offer more Pandebonos and a variety of artisan pastries.

One of my favorite bakery’s. I come here when I’m craving their beef pastry, but everything I’ve tried has always been so good. The guava cheese is definitely a go to of mine
